MLK Jr.- Black History Month – VIRTUAL Cultural and Art Exhibition

CALL FOR MLK/BHM PARTICIPANTS
In recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr Day and National Black History Month, the Racial Justice Taskforce of Messiah Lutheran Church is hosting a Virtual Cultural and Art Exhibition. The taskforce’s goal is to enhance learning by recognizing the many talents and contributions of African Americans historically, nationally and within the region. The Celebration is set to start on Sunday, January 24, 2021 and continue through a couple of Sundays in February, which is Black History Month. When you contact us please let us know your availability for any of those Sundays.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All members of Messiah as well as Community, family and friends are encouraged to participate. Anyone interested may contact Jacqueline Smith-Bennett at email@example.com For planning purposes, please do so by December18, 2020.
Presentations may be objects, pictures, instruments, literature, or any item of historical or cultural relevance to the Negro, Black, African American experience. For ease of viewing photos will be taken of the submitted pieces. On the day, the piece is shown, each participant will have 3–5 minutes to:
Tell us what the item is
Say why they chose it
Tell what they gained from the experience of identifying or finding their exhibition piece
