The Worship & Music Ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church of Mechanicsburg is sponsoring an event on funeral planning, and to learn about senior resources. It is a gift for families to know the preferences of loved ones for their funerals. Pastor Karen Durbin will lead us through the Funeral Planning Guide and worksheets. Two brand new palls for caskets and urns will be displayed, along with silk flower arrangements that are available.

There are a number of resources in Mechanicsburg for funerals and the later years of life. Materials from Malpezzi Funeral Home, Buhrig Funeral Home, and Central Pennsylvania
Cremation Society will be available to take home. Representatives from Country Meadows and Messiah Lifeways will give presentations on the services they offer, such as Adult Day Care and Home Care. Matthew Thomsen, Esquire, from Thomsen Family Law, will present a session on preparing wills, living wills, designating a power of attorney, and Legacy Giving. Stacey Zeller will talk about obituaries, and Melissa Jacoby will play a selection of hymns appropriate for funerals.

The Fellowship committee is providing a lunch typical of what is available for families on the day of their loved one’s funeral. You do not need to be a member of Trinity to benefit from this event. Please complete a pre-registration form available at the church and through the church office (717-766-2662). A schedule of the day’s workshops may also be obtained from the church office. There is a $5 suggested donation. You are welcome to attend some or all of the sessions.
