February 23, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
We want to talk about race, racism, and racial justice as a church. We see the need, and feel the deep divide in our country and even in some of our communities and congregations. But how do we start? How can we help our church community begin to have conversations about race that are scriptural, educational, helpful? What if we have a few or no people of color in our congregation? How do we have healthy conversation around such a charged issue?
This event is for rostered ministers, professional church workers, congregational leaders, and interested congregational members. We encourage you to bring a team of 3-6 people from your congregation or organization. This event fulfills the biannual requirement for rostered ministers.
Registration opens at 8:30 AM. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided. Lunch will be catered, and a freewill offering will be accepted to defray the cost of lunch and refreshments. The training will begin at 9:00 AM.
The Rev. Titus Clark, Vicar Carla Christopher and The Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown (for information about our presenters please go to: https://www.lss-elca.org/rostered-ministers/anti-racism-training/).
