Position:  Organist, Director of Vocal and Bell Choirs (Part-Time)
Description: The purpose of the Organist and Choir Director is to oversee the traditional music ministries of the church in cooperation with the pastor. The music leader will organize adult choir, bell choirs, and special music as needed and warranted to engage and inspire Christian faith beliefs through
music. We are looking for someone to partner with us in this role. The Organist and Choir Director with also work with our Praise Team leader and other staff members to support the congregation.

Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church is a vibrant congregation searching for a dynamic, experienced, professional to serve in this position. Key areas of focus include preparing/performing worship music, and leading/organizing voice and bell choirs. On occasion, this person also organizes special music events, facilitates fund raising and schedules special musicians including, but not limited to the AELC Recorder Choir. This person must also organize and inspire a strong group of existing volunteers while activating new music interest and talent.

Working alongside a team led by the Lead Pastor, the Director’s primary role is to oversee and organize Faith Formation activities for all ages.  Candidates need to have a strong, well-developed faith in Christ along with exceptional interpersonal, teaching, and leadership skills. Key areas of focus include planning and organizing Faith Formation curriculum, implementation and managing, Wee Worship, Vacation Bible School, Summer Day Camp, Holiday Programs, and Rally Day. responsible to uphold and deliver strong child protective policies to support a continued safe environment that sustains healthy child/youth development and allows strong faith formation.
