Position:  Administrative Assistant
Description:  Union Lutheran Church in York, PA is looking for a part time 20-25 hour per week Administrative Assistant.  The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day secretarial and clerical activities of the congregation.  He/she is responsible for receptionist duties, provides secretarial support to the Pastor and other professional staff, to the congregation council, and for congregational activities and events. The Administrative Assistant will, among other duties, create bulletins, newsletters and other forms of communication, including, but not limited to, help maintain our online presence, ie. website and social media as well as the congregation calendar),

The Administrative Assistant must:

  1. Possess a high school diploma, as a minimum, with secretarial training and/or experience.
  2. Be friendly, patient, and courteous in interactions with others.
  3. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills.
  4. Be proficient in the operation of office equipment, such as copiers, computer, printer, folding machine, and multi-line phone system.  Have confidence and skills with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word and Publisher), social media, general internet, and email communications.  Be able to operate building heating/cooling system.  Be able to maintain and to organize security systems/pass-codes.
  5. Be able to proofread own work and the work submitted by others.
  6. Maintain information in a confidential manner at all times.
  7. Maintain regular business hours Monday through Friday, 9 am – 1 pm, and work hours necessary to accomplish job requirements (not to exceed 25 hours per week).  Compensatory times will be given when required.
  8. Be able to pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.

Position: Organist (part-time)
Description:  We are seeking an Organist to join our staff at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon PA. If you have a genuine calling and passion for music ministry, we would like to learn more about you.  The Organist serves as the primary keyboard musician for our one traditional Sunday morning worship service and accompany any music needed at the Boost Sunday school service once a month, as well as special services such as Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and two music Sunday programs. The Organist also provides accompaniment for our senior and youth Choir rehearsals and concerts, and has first right of refusal to play for weddings and funerals.

Our sanctuary houses a 67 stop, 3 manual Wicks pipe organ, which has been regularly maintained and updated. The sanctuary also has 2 possible upright pianos to use for Sunday worship. Luther’s place utilizes a Mason & Hamlin baby grand that is regularly serviced and tuned.

The qualified candidate will be proficient in organ and piano accompaniment, excellent sight reading skills, and knowledge of sacred organ literature and the liturgical calendar. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in music/organ performance from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required. A successful background check is required prior to hire.  This is a part-time (approximately 8 hours per week), non-exempt, salaried position. Praise Band (Worship) Leader Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and assist in Contemporary Worship services, sharing responsibilities with the Pastor.
  • Help the Pastor develop worship service content with focus on 20-40 year old demographics.
  • Help the Pastor identify ways to attract new members to church and the alternative service, specifically.
  • Work with group of volunteer musicians and singers from the church
