New Mission as Renewal

New Mission as Renewal

We are a church that is deeply rooted – and always being made new.  On Feburary 1, 2018, we welcomed Pastor Jennifer to our synod staff as Director for Evangelical Mission for New Mission! To deepen our capacity for mission in the name of Jesus on the territory of our synod, her primary emphasis is developing new expressions of church within our congregations’ communities. At the heart of her ministry is helping us think about church differently.  Rather than starting with the traditional invitation to ‘Come and See’ (or ‘come to us’), new expressions meet people in the world – right where they are – through listening, loving, community building, and serving in the name of Jesus. New expressions flow outward from the congregation into the community or emerge within the community itself.
