The Lower Susquehanna Synod Healing Justice Fund practices a spirituality of restoration and empowering uplift, amplifying underrepresented voices, increasing accessibility and promoting full inclusion for historically marginalized persons of faith. As an embodiment of our synodical priorities to grow in authentic interaction, spiritual wellness, development of leaders, congregational care, and practicing faithful justice, the growth of this fund and its resultant ministries are also inspired by our Biblical and theologically inspired commitment to the building of Beloved Community in ways that align with our assembly affirmed status as a Reconciling in Christ synod.
Funded through congregational nd individual donations, Healing Justice funds cultivate opportunities in and between congregations, agencies, and conferences for training, outreach, and programs to celebrate gifts and hone skills historically underrepresented (including, but not limited to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Disabled, and Immigrant) members of the Body of Christ bring to ministry.
Individuals from historically underrepresented/marginalized groups are also invited to apply for support of education, resources or program participation that support leadership development and skill-building, spiritual and mental health, safety and physical well-being, and/or inclusion and belonging in communities of faith. Funds awarded to individual applicants will be applied to reimbursement of actual expenses incurred (keep receipts) or paid directly to third parties.

Please apply for a grant to help support ministries and programs for people who are underrepresented or those who have been hurt or harmed by the church. A congregation, organization, or individual may apply. Funds awarded to individual applicants will be applied to reimbursement of actual expenses incurred (keep receipts) or paid directly to third parties. Applications are welcomed on an ongoing/as needed basis.
