Love so steadfast, it lasts forever
A love that never
leaves you wondering if you’re worth it
It’s hard to imagine
so I’ll ask you to just sit
with the weight of those words in your lap
for a minute
Cup your hands
like a chalice
holding water that’s dancing with the Holy Spirit
and let a love like that catch its breath
resting on your fingertips
Breathe it in
Let it go
Knowing
its still with you

This is not your mother’s love
This is not admiration for a job well done
This is not a day when the new dress fits perfectly
or you make it to the church on time to be
up front with the holy rollers
and the sweet singing choir
This is when the truth revealed you a liar
This is when you tried to run
but the fire under your feet just burned brighter
than the sun, shining light
on the corners of your darkest desires
This is a love for when you are ashamed
This is a love for when you blame
yourself, and can’t let it go
This is a love for when you feel utterly
and completely
alone

Doubt. In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
Fear. In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
Hopelessness. In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
Despair. In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
Helplessness. In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
-Insert the hurt you are ready to leave behind here- In the name of the Jesus, I cut you off.
I pushed so hard,
I was falling
and God caught me
I was the stone, that didn’t fit
and God said
I will build a castle
with this little bit of stone,
made of flesh and bone
and I’m gonna call it my church

because blessed
is the one who comes
in the name of the Lord
and you do,
so this love is for you
Blessed in all that you are
Loved
In all that you do
Let that wash over
and in
and through

Love so steadfast
it endures
forever
for you
