SYNOD ASSEMBLY COUNTDOWN

The 30th Annual Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly is less than one month away (June 2-3). Are you ready to FORM + NEW + VISION? Are you ready to wear red socks and fill the truck to feed the hungry as we have been fed by Christ? Read on to find out where to access the information you need.

THE BASICS

  • Synod Assembly will be held Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, at Messiah College. Click here to be redirected to the Assembly landing page. Visit this page frequently to check for updates and to access materials for download and/or printing.
  • Online registration is closed. If you missed it, you may still register onsite for $240/person. A limited number of additional meals have been reserved, but there is no provision for overnight accommodations with onsite registration. (Note: We are trying to be good stewards of your mission support and our resources by limiting the number of additional registrations and fees assessed by the college. Messiah required final numbers on May 5 for their planning. Thank you for understanding.)
  • Please help us Fill the Truck to Feed the Children! This project will provide much needed nutrition for hungry children who will not receive free or reduced-price breakfasts, lunches, and weekend backpacks over the summer months. Click here for more information and a list of suggested items to collect and bring to Synod Assembly.
  • We still need volunteers to help with receiving, sorting, and loading the truck for the Fill the Truck to Feed the Children project. Click here to learn more and sign up for one or more shifts. Thank you!
  • Remember to WEAR your RED SOCKS to Assembly on Friday, June 2! Bishop Jim and Connie Dunlop will give $5 to ABMN Hunger Initiatives for every pair of socks worn and shared on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) using the hashtag #LSS17. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enola has agreed to match the Dunlops’ gift with an additional dollar for every pair. Click here to watch Bishop Dunlop’s new “Sock it to Hunger” video.
  • Wondering what happens when and where? Click here to view or download the draft agenda.
  • Yes, our Synod Assembly will again be livestreamed here on our synod website. A viewing window will be added to the Assembly landing page before June 2. Most of the Assembly sessions will be archived for later viewing on our synod’s YouTube channel.
  • What about Social Media? Please share your photos, tweets, and comments using the hashtag #LSS17.
  • Like to sing? Join our Synod Assembly Choir and help us make sweet harmonies at the Friday evening Festival Eucharist. Visit the Assembly landing page for additional information.
