Digital Cathedral Workshop

The Digital Cathedral Workshop
Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in York
keith-andersonUsing the Cathedral as a metaphor, Pastor Keith Anderson offers a renewed vision for ministry which steps beyond bricks & mortar, encouraging twenty-first century ministry grounded in relationships, neighborhoods and social media platforms.

“A Cathedral is an immersive experience of faith formation, with the images, architecture, people, music, and ritual all serving to form those who enter that space. Part of the genius of Cathedrals is the way they affect and shape us simply by being inside them. Even as you trace a particular stone carving with your finger, stare up at a certain stained glass window, walk a labyrinth, or listen to a guided audio tour, the environment of the Cathedral itself is shaping you.” Keith Anderson in The Digital Cathedral

Engaging ministry through a spiritual hub in a widely networked and integrated world is more than possible, it’s necessary. Join us as Lutheran-Christian pastor and author Keith Anderson shares ways we can include theory and theology, spirituality and practice through a digital cathedral. Based on Rev. Keith Anderson’s newest book, The Digital Cathedral: Networked Ministry in a Wireless World, and in partnership with Zion Lutheran Church in York, this workshop is free and open to all; however, registration is required by November 7, 2015 (no day of event registration available). Envisioning the Future of Faith Formation

roberto2Scheduled for June 5, from 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM, at the Hostetter Chapel on the campus of Messiah College in Grantham, PA. This event will welcome John Roberto, author of “Faith Formation 20/20: Designing the Future of Faith,” and editor of the journal Lifelong Faith. Roberto has been researching, teaching and authoring materials on faith formation for decades, and brings his unique knowledge and perspective to help us envision a future for faith formation here in Lower Susquehanna and more importantly right in YOUR congregation.

The event is being hosted by our new Lower Susquehanna Synod Center for Faith Formation, a growing partnership between our synod Resource Network & synod Office for Children, Youth & Family Ministry, and is designed for all adults who accompany and lead youth within the congregation including staff youth leaders, pastors, Sunday school teachers and volunteers. There is NO cost to register, and interested participants can register at a link found on the Center For Faith Formation Events page of our website. Congregations will also have the opportunity to covenant with Roberto and this synod’s Center for Faith Formation to enter into a year-long dialogue on the shifting nature of faith formation in your congregational setting.
