Change for Change is a stewardship initiative launched by the LSSLYO in 2002 to help affect a change in the lives of others through the sharing of the gifts and resources of the youth of this synod. During the first two years of the initiative, over $7,200.00 has been raised and maybe, more importantly, countless hours have been spent sharing gifts of ministry with brothers and sisters in faith. An important part of the initiative is the need to provide “active” service to at least one of the areas of ministry supported by the Change for Change benevolence dollars. In 2002 that meant helping with renovations at the parish community house at Amazing Grace in Baltimore. In 2003, youth helped renovate shower houses at Camp Nawakwa.

• Lower Susquehanna Synod LYO Alumni Fund

In an effort to reach out to young adults, an often underserved generation in the church, the LYO Board will be sending “care packages” to recent high school graduates. Known as LYO Alumni, many recent high school grads go off to college or begin careers and get disconnected from the church. Reaching out to them and keeping them connected is important ministry. On this page you’ll see some of the livestock on a farm in the Konde Diocese provided as part of the Heifer Project/Southern Highlands ministry. Some of the dollars collected in this years campaign are targeted to help provide even more livestock to our companion diocese through this same ministry.
