Youth/Young Adults
Synod Youth Ministry Vision
To equip congregations, youthworkers, parents, and youth with the tools to create a culture that develops a vital, active, living faith in Christ Jesus in the lives of our youth and their families.
Ministry with children, youth and young adults, or ministry in the first third of life is what this section of our website is all about. Faith formation continues to be a partnership between the home, the congregation, this office, and the many youth and adults who volunteer countless hours in Christian education, event ministry and servant learning and travel. With important leadership provided by the Lower Susquehanna Synod Lutheran Youth Organization (LSSLYO), this office strives to be a hub for downloadable forms and resources, information sharing, assistance with congregational youth ministry planning, and youth event management.
ELCA Youth Gathering Lives Up to Hype
The
Gathering in New Orleans afforded youth from across the church to serve in
a variety of ways, including supplying the 82 schools in New Orleans with school
kits stuffed with supplies that will outfit every child in grades K-3 this
fall. Other service venues included 13 churches, 11 organizations rebuilding
homes, 7 public parks, 21 community centers, 5 reading fairs, a community health
and wellness fair, and a blood drive. Youth engaged in conversation around
practicing compassionate justice in the manner of Jesus, while joining in worship
and fellowship with over 36,000 peers. To read more, click on the link below.
