How to Become Involved
- Pray for our companion diocese, its mission and ministry;
- Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in the struggle against poverty, malaria, HIV-AIDS and other threatening diseases;
- Invite a visitor from Tanzania to speak in your congregation; Pastor Imani Chibona, a student at Gettysburg Seminary, is currently available, contact Pastor John Wenzke at (717)757-6741 or jjwasw21@comcast.net to schedule;
- Invite a member of our synod who has visited Tanzania to speak at an event in your congregation; contact Pastor Judy McKee at (717) 848-3419 or 843-7897, jmckee@lss-elca.org or Pastor Wenzke at the numbers above;
- Become a companion congregation with a congregation or mission area in the Diocese; contact Pastor Sally Gausmann (717) 792-1650 or Pastor.Sally@comcast.net;
- Observe an annual Companion Synod Sunday;
- Visit the Konde Diocese or help sponsor visitors from the Konde Diocese;
- Sponsor a specific project or scholarship relationship;
- Volunteer to work for a short time in the Konde Diocese; teachers, medical professionals, and others with special skills are always needed;
- Serve as a member of the Konde Diocese Committee, Medical Needs Task Force, or other specific task force group;
- Visit the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania web site, www.elct.org.
