95 Theses on the Move!

As part of our synod’s observance of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, three portable copies of Luther’s 95 Theses are on the move coming to a conference near you! We invite you to join us for study and conversation as together we continue to be God’s people reforming and always being made new.

95 Theses cropThere will be many opportunities to share in this yearlong observance of the Protestant Reformation, and we hope your congregation will join us for the journey. Our Anniversary 500 Committee has been hard at work planning ways for our synod to connect, engage, and enjoy an exploration of our heritage, our hope, the common threads that bind us to our sisters and brothers in the Roman Catholic Church and other traditions, and our ongoing commitment to following the Spirit’s guidance as we continue to re-form in the faith.

Wondering where to start? Why not “get on board” to schedule a visit of the traveling 95 Theses for your congregation. Click here to learn more about the details of how and when to schedule your visit (revised schedule) and here for a 95 Theses Study Guide written by Pastor Adam Morton (Christ and Holy Trinity, Lancaster). Conference Deans can find information here about how to keep the traveling 95 Theses on the move. Click here to watch a fun short video that Pastor Rob Myallis created to introduce the congregation of Zion’s (Jonestown) to the traveling 95 Theses.

The traveling 95 Theses are intended to

  • Foster awareness of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation
  • Create a visible link between congregations and parachurch organization in our synod
  • Provide you a way to study this particular historical document
  • Give congregations a chance for a celebratory photo!
